Two Books By Esteemed Photographer Anthony Edgeworth
Added to Classics of Golf's "Clubs & Courses" Lineup

Legendary Golf Links of Ireland and
Legendary Golf Clubs of the American East
Provide Magnificent Views of Must-Play Venues

PEARL RIVER, NY – Mike Beckerich, publisher of Classics of Golf, announced that two sumptuous coffee-table books by award-winning American photographer Anthony Edgeworth and British author John de St. Jorre are now available on the Classics of Golf Website.

Both books measure 9x12 inches, total 360 pages and are printed on heavy coated stock in full color.

Legendary Golf Links of Ireland

Here are the grandeur (and the people) of 16 extraordinary clubs: Royal Portrush, Tralee, Waterville, County Louth, Dooks, County Sligo, Ballyliffin, The Island, Enniscrone, Portstewart, Lahinch, Donegal, Carne, Portmarnock, Ballbunion and Royal County Down.

Edgeworth puts the golfers into the golfscapes, providing a breathtaking sense of scale. In addition to the monumental, he presents the microcosms: closeups of the pubs, clubhouses, signs, sculpture, flora and fauna of the clubs and villages, as well as contextually rich portraits of the people who run the clubs, maintain the courses and play them on a daily basis.

De St. Jorre's text is as rich in reportorial detail and color as the photos themselves..

Legendary Golf Clubs of the American East

A privileged view of 12 hallowed clubs, from esteemed photographer Anthony Edgeworth and author John de St. Jorre. 9x12 inches, 360 pages in full color. Here are Seminole, The Country Club, Myopia Hunt Club, Oakmont, Merion, Pine Valley, Somerset Hills, Ekwanok, Yeamans Hall, Newport, Shinnecock and the National as only insiders see them.

"John de St. Jorre has brilliantly brought all these clubs to life," writes Bill Campbell, 1964 US Amateur champion and USGA past president, in his Preface. "His keen powers of observation and description have combined with his insight and literary talent to produce individual case studies, realistic and appealing, so that all these clubs will interest the reader, whether or not he has been there."

"Similarly, Tony Edgeworth's sharp and discerning camera lens," Campbell observes, "has provided a compelling tableau of each club and its members, catching that club's life and suggesting its intangibles."
